Dr. Michael Macdonald
Dr. Macdonald is a skilled specialist in Cosmetic and Facial Plastic Surgery. He is Board Certified as a Diplomat of the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and a Diplomat of the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada. After earning his medical degree at Queen’s University, Dr. Macdonald completed an internship at North York General Hospital, followed by residencies at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and the University of Toronto. He then completed Advanced Fellowship training in Cosmetic Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery under the auspices of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) at the University of California-San Francisco.
Dr. Macdonald is Director of the Aesthetic Surgery Center Inc. in San Francisco, and serves as Chief of the Division of Head and Neck Surgery of the Alameda Health System in the East Bay (Alameda County Medical Center, San Leandro Hospital, and Alameda Hospital) where he acts as Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Surgery of the University of California. He also serves as Director of a BOTOX* Cosmetic National Physician Training Center. In addition to his clinical appointment through UC-San Francisco, he has taught at the Meiji College of Oriental Medicine and been a lecturer for the Oakland Kaiser Head and Neck Surgery training program. He is the author of several medical articles and has received numerous awards and scholarships related to his clinical research. He speaks at professional engagements and presentations throughout the country and internationally.
Dr. Macdonald participates in the National Domestic Violence Program of the American Academy of Facial Plastic Reconstructive Surgery to repair wounds and deformities of victims of domestic violence. He also has participated in medical missions to Guatemala to repair congenital deformities in children. In earlier years, he was a camp counselor at Camp Laurel for HIV positive children and Camp Oochigeas for children with cancer. He is an ongoing supporter of The Little Jim Club of San Francisco whereby he raises money to help fund pediatric medical programs of the California Pacific Medical Center.

He and his carefully selected and trained staff are experts in the art of facial contouring with fillers (liquid rhinoplasty, liquid facelift, lip enhancement, cheek revolumization), neurotoxins (Botox*, Dysport*, Jeuveau*), and Kybella* and advanced skin care with laser treatments (laser resurfacing for wrinkles, large pores and acne scars, BBL for discoloration and sun spots, and Skin Tyte), micro-needling, chemical peels and facial treatments.
