Hi, I'm Dr. Macdonald, Medical Director of San Francisco's Aesthetic Surgery & Skin Rejuvenation Center. Thank you for taking the time to get to know me. I look forward to getting to know you too.

I love what I do… I was fortunate to discover this early in life. And I'm grateful for the people and experiences that have touched my life because of practicing medicine. It's truly a gift.

In 1995, while completing my facial plastics fellowship at University of California - San Francisco (UCSF), I discovered the astounding beauty and adventure of the San Francisco Bay Area. As a lifelong adventure sports enthusiast, it doesn't get any better than this! So, I said goodbye to my native Canada, and here I've stayed...

At my cosmetic medical practice in Union Square, I attend to patients from the greater San Francisco Bay area and beyond. Cosmetic surgery, like all medicine, is a blend of art, science and compassionate care. My aim is to listen carefully and advise you of the best options given your unique goals and the utmost consideration for your safety.

I also spend about one-third of my time as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Oakland campus of the University of California-San Francisco where I attend to the advanced training of surgical residents. Together, we practice life-saving surgery to treat airway difficulties, cancer, and trauma to the head, face and neck. Teaching, like medicine and adventure, is another of my passions, and doing it keeps me fresh and open-minded about my surgical approaches and techniques.

Whether it be cosmetic or life-saving medicine, I cherish having a positive impact on people’s lives. The personal thanks expressed by my patients and students is inspiring. I'm particularly grateful for the opportunity I've had to participate in the medical missions and charitable causes which I have supported through the years. I hope you ask me about them - I love to share my adventures...
