Dr. Michael Macdonald is a specialist in cosmetic and facial plastic surgery. He is double board-certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and a Diplomate of the American Board of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He has completed advanced fellowship training in cosmetic facial plastic and reconstructive surgery under the auspices of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr. Macdonald is director of Aesthetic Surgery Center of San Francisco and also serves as chief of the Division of Head and Neck Surgery at the Alameda County Medical Center in the East Bay, where he is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery. In addition to this appointment through the University of California – San Francisco, he has taught at the Meiji College of Oriental Medicine and for the Oakland Kaiser Head and Neck Surgery Residency Training Program. He is director of a BOTOX Cosmetic® National Physician Training Center and a member of the Asia Pacific Masseter Advisory Board. He is the author of several medical articles and has received numerous awards and scholarships related to his clinical research.He speaks at professional events and conferences throughout the country and internationally. |
